Beat Toxic Thought Pollution, Part 2 (Scroll down below to read Part 1 first, if you had missed it!!)
Welcome to The Front Porch! Let's chat about...
The Lemonade STAND
We've all heard and most of us have used the expression, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade."
LEMONS
Life sometimes hands us bad news. Bad breaks. Sour luck. Lemons. Sometimes we accumulate lemon piles, actually collecting tough situations. Maybe we even draw solace from them: "It could be different---things would be great---but I've got all these lemons."
We all have lemons, things about our lives and ourselves that we don't like. Our jobs. Our bodies. Our social lives. Our finances. Our relationships. Or our geographical locations.
Sometimes we get so comfortable with our lemons that we hardly notice they're around. We are resigned to their presence...
"Hey! I didn't order these damned lemons! Take them somewhere else!" "Sorry Bud. We just dump them where we're told. They're your lemons now." Hmmmm. In other words, maybe I don't deserve these lemons, but they are mine now.
I wonder if my lemons are much different than other people's lemons. I mean, how many kinds of lemons can there be? What are other people doing with their lemons? Why do some people seems to have more lemons, and others have fewer lemons?
LEMONADE
Every time we fix a situation we don't like, we've made lemonade. And when we share that lemonade with others, our own supply of lemons seems smaller. Things get better for everyone.
So whose going to take my lemons and make lemonade for me? ...Well? Awfully quiet out there. Up to me, huh?
Time to take the Lemonade STAND:
==========
The Lemonade STAND
---- I am responsible for my perceptions of what happens to me.
---- I savor my unlimited options.
---- I accept control of my life.
---- I learn from every adversity, knowing each contains the seed of equivalent or greater benefit.
---- I treasure my life experiences, knowing they prepare me for today's triumphs and joys.
---- I rejoice in the successes of others, knowing that success makes the world a better place for everyone.
---- I prepare. I persist. I afffirm.
---- I act NOW. I achieve NOW. I enjoy NOW. I am grateful NOW.
